Who We Are
This Privacy Policy explains how InsightTechDaily (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you visit insighttechdaily.com, contact us, leave a comment, or use features on our website.
For privacy questions or requests, email support@insighttechdaily.com or use our Contact page.
Information You Provide
When you contact us through our form or by email, we receive the information you provide, such as your name, email address, message, and any attachments. We use this information to respond, investigate reported problems or corrections, and manage the correspondence. Please avoid sending passwords, payment details, or other sensitive information through the contact form.
We do not currently send newsletters.
Technical and Usage Information
When you visit the site, our hosting, security, and measurement services may process information such as your IP address, browser and device details, pages requested, referring page, dates and times, and interactions with site features. This information supports website delivery, troubleshooting, traffic measurement, and protection against spam, fraud, and abuse. Our website is hosted using GoDaddy services.
Comments and Gravatar
If you leave a comment, we collect the information shown in the comment form, together with your IP address and browser user agent to help detect spam. Approved comments, the display name you provide, and any associated public profile image may be visible to other visitors. Your email address is not displayed with your comment.
A hash generated from your email address may be sent to Gravatar to check for an associated profile image. Gravatar is operated by Automattic; see Automattic’s Privacy Policy. Comments may also be checked by an automated spam detection service.
Accounts and Uploaded Media
If you have a website account, we store the personal information in your user profile. You can review and edit the available profile fields, except your username, and contact us about deletion. Website administrators can access and manage this information. If you request a password reset, your IP address may be included in the reset email.
If you are permitted to upload images, avoid including embedded location information such as EXIF GPS data. Visitors may be able to download publicly available images and extract embedded information.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. The website and third-party services use cookies or similar technologies for functions such as login sessions, saved preferences, analytics, advertising, and affiliate attribution. Their use depends on the feature, service settings, and choices available to you.
WordPress uses the following cookies when the relevant features are used:
- Comment preferences: If you opt to save your name, email address, and website for future comments, these cookies last for one year.
- Login-page check: A temporary cookie checks whether your browser accepts cookies. It is discarded when you close your browser.
- Account sessions: Login cookies normally last for two days, or two weeks if you choose “Remember Me.” Logging out removes login cookies. Screen preference cookies last for one year.
- Article editing: If you edit or publish an article, a cookie containing the post ID expires after one day.
Cookies used by external services have their own lifetimes and settings. You can block or delete cookies through your browser, although this may affect logins, preferences, or other features. Blocking cookies does not prevent every form of data collection.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the site. Measurement may include page views, referral sources, device and browser information, approximate location, and interactions such as link clicks. Cookies and browser identifiers may be used, depending on settings and choices.
When Google services load, your browser sends information to Google, including the page address and IP address. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can also use Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on for supported browsers.
Advertising and Google AdSense
We use Google AdSense to display advertising. Third-party vendors, including Google, use advertising cookies to serve ads based on previous visits to this website and other websites. These cookies allow Google and its partners to personalize ads. Advertising services may also process identifiers, device and request information, and ad interactions to measure performance and detect fraud.
You can manage or opt out of Google’s personalized advertising through Google Ad Settings. You can learn about choices offered by participating third-party advertising companies at YourAdChoices. These choices may depend on your browser, device, region, and the providers involved. Turning off personalization does not remove all advertising or measurement.
For details about Google’s advertising data practices, visit Google’s advertising privacy information.
Google Reader Revenue Manager
Individual article pages load Google’s Reader Revenue Manager service. Loading this service connects your browser to Google, which may process technical information and identifiers under the Google Privacy Policy. If a reader prompt is displayed and you choose to interact with it, review the information and choices shown in that prompt before submitting any details.
Affiliate Links and Retailer Websites
Some articles and deals contain affiliate links. If you follow one of these links and make a qualifying purchase, we may earn a commission. Retailers and affiliate networks may use cookies, link identifiers, or similar tracking to attribute referrals and purchases. We may receive reporting about clicks, qualifying purchases, and commissions.
Retailers handle checkout and information you provide on their websites under their own privacy policies. Review those policies before making a purchase. Following an external link takes you to a service with its own data practices.
Embedded Content and Social Services
Articles may include embedded videos, images, social posts, or other external content. These services can receive technical information when their content loads, set or read cookies, and record interactions. If you are logged in to the provider, it may associate activity with your account. The provider’s privacy policy applies to its processing. Ordinary links to our social profiles take you to the relevant platform when you follow them.
How Information Is Used and Shared
We use information to operate and secure the website, respond to messages, manage comments and accounts, understand readership, display and measure advertising, and attribute affiliate referrals. Information may be processed by providers that support hosting, email delivery, forms, security, spam filtering, backups, analytics, advertising, and the other features described above. Some third-party services also use information for their own purposes under their privacy policies.
We may also disclose relevant information when legally required, to respond to lawful requests, or to protect the website, its users, and our rights. Comments and other information you intentionally submit for publication may be publicly accessible.
How Long Information Is Kept
Comments and their metadata are normally retained indefinitely to preserve discussions and support moderation, unless removed. Account information is kept while the account exists and afterward where necessary for security, administrative, or legal purposes.
Contact correspondence is retained as needed to handle the inquiry and relevant follow-up or recordkeeping. Technical logs, backups, and analytics information have retention periods that depend on the service, configured settings, and operational needs. Third-party providers may retain information under their own policies. Contact us if you need information about a particular record or wish to request deletion.
Privacy Choices and Requests
You can use your browser’s cookie controls and the Google and advertising choices linked above. If a consent or privacy-settings notice is shown to you, its controls explain the choices available for that service. These external opt-out tools do not replace any rights or consent choices required by applicable law.
You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you. If you have an account or have left comments, you can request an export of the personal data associated with them. We may need information to verify your request. Deletion may be limited where information must be retained for legal, administrative, or security reasons.
Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have additional rights, such as data portability, restrictions on or objections to processing, withdrawal of consent, or an opt-out of certain advertising uses or disclosures. Send requests to support@insighttechdaily.com, identifying the information or activity involved. We will assess the request under the law that applies to it.
International Processing
Our service providers may process or store information in countries other than the one where you live. Those countries may have different privacy laws. Provider policies linked above explain their international processing practices.
Changes to This Policy
We may revise this policy as our website, services, or practices change. The date above identifies the latest revision. For questions about this policy or your information, contact support@insighttechdaily.com.
